We are an independent sewing, haberdashery, wool and crafting supplies shop in the beautiful Gloucestershire town of Wotton-under-Edge. We pride ourselves on our carefully chosen, quality products and our high level of customer service. You are welcome to browse our bright and welcoming shop in Market Street, just off the main street of Wotton. We are near the historic Tolsey Clock, and the town sits on the route of the Cotswold Way.

Nicola and her friendly team are dedicated to providing excellent customer service, help and advice. We have carefully sourced products from a wide range of businesses, many with a local connection. We are delighted to stock many products from small, independent companies, alongside trusted and well-established brands such as Prym, Gutermann, DMC, King Cole, Sirdar, Sanderson and Liberty.
Dress-Making Fabrics and Patterns
We have selected from many sources to bring you a carefully curated selection of beautiful and stylish dress fabrics. You will find cotton lawns, linen and cotton mixes, double gauze, cotton ginghams, high quality jersey fabrics and much more. We seek to provide quality and choice from brands including Fabric Godmother, Sewing Sanctuary and Clarabelle Fabrics.
We hold the entire stock of Simplicity and New Look patterns, as well as many from Merchant and Mills, Emporia, Tilly and The Buttons, Seasons of East and Little Rosie Cheeks.
Dress-Making Supplies
We stock all that you need to complete your dress making projects, from threads, fastenings and interfacings, to linings, elastics and nets. If we don’t have what you need, we can usually have it in the shop within a few days, through our network of suppliers.
Wool and Yarns
We sell a great selection of wools and yarns, in a wide range of colours and textures. We have everything from pure alpaca and recycled wools, to novelty yarns and great value acrylics.
We also have knitting needles, crochet hooks and a range of accessories to make your knitting and crochet projects easier to manage. We sell a wide selection of patterns too, and are always happy to order items in or help you find something that suits your needs. With a range of knitted and crocheted samples in store, you can also find inspiration and advice.
Brother Sewing Machines
We are a registered Brother dealer, and can help you to choose and buy your new sewing machine or overlocker. We have a range of models in the shop for you to try and buy.
We run regular ‘Introduction to an overlocker’ and ‘Introduction to a sewing machine’ workshops, using our Brother machines, offering you a chance to try them out while making an item.
Sewing Machine Repairs
Drop off in store repair service
We offer servicing and repairs for all makes and models of sewing machines and over lockers. Simply drop off your machine to us and it will be collected, serviced and delivered back to us by our local engineer for you to collect. Usual turnaround is one week and a standard service costs £68.
Haberdashery Essentials
We are renowned for our excellent range of haberdashery, with ribbons, elastics and much more on the roll, so that you can buy just what you need. We have a wide range of supplies for mending and repair, as we care passionately about sustainability in clothing and furnishings. Our Prym haberdashery stand also has a huge selection of ‘non sew’ items for all sorts of household tasks. We also stock Dylon machine dyes, helping you prolong the life of your clothes.
We are always very happy to advise and help, and have a network of makers and specialists should you need further help.
Quilting Supplies
Wotton and the surrounding area has a thriving quilting community, and we stock a beautiful selection of crafting fabrics from names such as Rose and Hubble, Liberty, Three Wishes, Nutex and Lewis and Irene.
We also have plenty of plains and blenders, as well as wadding and interfacing. Our range is expanding all the time, and we listen carefully to our customers to stay relevant. Fabrics are sold off the roll and as fat quarters, singly or in bundles to inspire your creativity.
Our quilting range also includes rotary cutters, mats, rulers, templates, adhesives, battings, interfacing and Bondaweb.
Workshops
We run regular workshops for 4 - 6 people in our shop. These generally take place in the evening from 6.30 - 9.00pm. All materials and equipment are provided, along with drinks - including a glass of fizz of course! You will take away a completed item, or the materials and knowledge to complete your project at home.
